What’s the difference between a landlord and an owner?

Owners and landlords both own their respective rental properties. The difference between the two is that landlords manage the properties themselves, while agents manage properties on behalf of the owners. Landlords are therefore responsible for managing tenants, following up on maintenance requests and all the other day-to-day requirements of renting a property. Owners, on the other hand, leave all of this up to their agent.
